Type B-4 Life Preserver / Mae West, Type used by Paratroopers & Aviatiors

WWII era Type B-4 Life Preserver / Mae West Type used by Paratroopers & Aviators. The rubberized body is in very good condition with no damage and is extremely supple. Some staining from age. The metal hardware is in good shape with only minor surface rust. The canvas straps have period repairs on them. The rubber is supple, but has some cracking. The vest is dated 1942 and has an inspection date of May 8th 1944. This is the type of preserver that was used by paratroopers on D-day.
